The vent is placed high up in the roof close to the central cross section of the poles. This is the best position since warm and moist air rises. It is an integral part of the entrance and can be operated by the zipper. Even when closed the vent lets out moist air, since it is made of permeable fabric. A large, detachable cover protects the entire area from snow or rain penetrating the tent.
